Nine nominated ventures were invited to Brussels to pitch their business ideas to an expert audience. They came, they saw, they conquered or as it happened, they came, they pitched and they won.
The EIT's 2011/2012 Entrepreneurship Competition highlights and encourages entrepreneurial ventures within the EIT's three thematic areas: climate change adaptation and mitigation, the future of information and communication society and sustainable energy. It is organised in collaboration with its three Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs): Climate-KIC, EIT ICT Labs and KIC InnoEnergy.
Encouraging entrepreneurship is a key part of the EIT's mission - and so our first EIT Entrepreneurship Awards put the spotlight on the most promising ventures from each of our three Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). The contest culminates in a conference and awards ceremony to be held on February 21, 2012 in Brussels, where a high-level jury will select one winner from each of the three KICs.
Check this website regularly to follow the EIT Awards countdown, the finalists' success stories and twitter, and meet the nine finalists at Start-up! The European Entrepreneurship Summit on 21 February 2012 in Brussels.
